Getting Solar Benefits While Preserving Quality of Life

Individuals are being approached in our counties to sign leases on their land to allow the construction of utility-scale solar generation facilities. No one is addressing concerns that such facilities could degrade the quality of life for hundreds of area residents and negatively impact agriculture, wildlife, existing businesses, and long-term economic growth.

Please add your name below to urge our leaders to adopt a zoning regulation similar to what they have for wind energy:

A solar energy conversion system exceeding 100 kW or exceeding an area of one acre or more than one solar energy conversion system of any size proposed and/or constructed by the same person or group of persons on the same adjoining parcels or as unified or single generating systems are specifically prohibited as a use in Wabaunsee County.
